Come, Son of Jor-El, Kneel Before Pod

It's true. PMVpodcast is back. It was long ago, in 2013, that I first started up PMVpodcast. It ran from 2013-2018, 70 episodes, each featuring a live session from a different band along with interviews, local music news, gig listings and DIY chat. A number of things have influenced me to start up the podcast again. The big reason is that I've had to take down the old episodes, the platform I was using to host them has become defunct and I can't justify paying for it any longer. So I've seized on the opportunity to do what I've wanted to do for a long time which is to remaster and repackage the old episodes. So the new series alternates new sessions with remastered old sessions.

Search for PMVpodcast on any podcast app to find it. If you're having trouble then go to https://pmvpodcast.podbean.com/ to find direct links to listen and follow on any platform.

Pod bless you, my child.

MARLA - Átök

Released 02/12/22

It's been a busy time for us as far as gigs are concerned. We've been slapping Norwich with some pretty fine live music over the last couple of months and we have a few more coming up. On 25th November at Voodoo Daddy's we have 2 Off with their Records bands playing on the same bill. MARLA and Yellowhammers are supporting frat-rock favourites, Bag of Cans, along with Californian indie-rockers, The Acharis.

3rd December Off with their Records star player, Shane Olinski, is playing one of his typically unique shows with an ad hoc band that's rumoured to be about 10-people strong, supporting Galli and with support from The Rabbits.

11th December Catch 21 Records are running a joint Christmas do with Off with their Records. It starts at the Shoe Factory with a massive line-up of killer bands and Wildcraft Brewery catering the event with exclusive beverages.

And there are more but I'm running out of space. Keep your eyes on here for more updates.

Friday 5th November is a big day here at Off with their Records.

Firstly we have the release of the new episode of PMVpodcast faturing Yur Mum. This London-based punk band are playing a gig that we're helping to put on with Ideal Surrealat B2 venue, Norwich on 19th November supporting Wonk Unit. They are frankly sick so check them out.

Also today marks the release of the debut music video and the debut hometown show of the new band Waxx. Not technically on Off with their Records, they are on Catch 22 Records but I am in it so there you go. Watch the video in our 'Featured Video' section below and come see us play at Voodoo Daddies along with two of my favourite local bands, Aphra and Eat Your Own Head.

It's back. The world's longest running live-music podcast (I think that's actually true) returns for an 8th season.

PMVpodcast was in some ways the mother of Off with their Records. It began in October 2013 when I began recording bands live in session in my attic bedroom, initially with just 2 mics and an audio interface. This is how I became aware of the depth and brilliance of the Norwich music scene and how I started learning to record and mix music. I stepped back from the podcast after 7 seasons to focus on other things but unsurprisingly I couldn't stay away. PMVpodcast is back and it's come a long way since the attic.

Season 8 begins with We Bless This Mess. We recorded this session down in the underbelly of The Rumsey Wells pub.

Follow PMVpodcast on any podcast provider, find it on Off with their Records Soundcloud and you can even visit our old Tumblr website if you're feeling old school.
